Dehydration

Dehydration

Dehydration is a medical condition in which the body does not have enough water and essential electrolytes. It can be caused by excessive sweating, vomiting or diarrhea, as well as certain medications or illnesses. Dehydration can be dangerous if left untreated so it is important to seek medical care when dehydration symptoms appear.

At CleCare urgent care, dehydration is treated with IV (intravenous) fluids that are administered directly into a vein. This helps restore fluids and electrolytes quickly but may require several treatments to fully hydrate the patient. CleCare is specially equipped with multiple different specialty iv vitamin cocktails to help you replenish your body.

In some cases, dehydration may also require additional medication to help reduce symptoms such as fever or nausea. Antibiotics may be prescribed if dehydration is caused by a bacterial infection. In extreme cases, dehydration can lead to organ failure and death, so it is important to seek medical care immediately if dehydration is suspected.

By following these steps, dehydration can often be treated effectively at CleCare Urgent Care. However, it is important to remember that dehydration can be dangerous if left untreated, so it is best to seek medical attention when dehydration symptoms appear.  With the right treatment and care, dehydration can usually be resolved with no lasting complications.  It is also important to take preventative measures such as drinking plenty of water and taking breaks from activities when needed in order to avoid dehydration altogether.
