About My Film Career, and How it All Began
“When I was 25 I was invited to the set of “Blue Velvet” by the director, David Lynch. On set, David introduced me to Dennis Hopper and our short conversation led to my first frame on a movie set. That image is the decisive moment that changed my life forever and began my 3 decade career as a still photographer working on and off movie sets with actors. I am lucky and blessed to have worked with 38 Oscar winning actors and 6 Oscar winning directors including Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Jane Campion, and Sydney Pollock. I also studied the lighting techniques of 7 Oscar winning Directors of Photography. On sets I learned timing as well as how to blend into varied environments. Things essential to successful street shooting. In my workshops I share what I learned in the world’s ultimate classroom for environmental portraiture.
