Why Retainers Matter
Once teeth are straight, they still need a little help staying that way. Without retainers, teeth can slowly shift back over time—especially during the first few months after treatment.
That’s why we like to say:
“Wear your retainers as long as you want your teeth to stay straight!”
We provide both removable and fixed retainers, depending on your needs and preferences. Most patients will wear their retainers at night only, and that often becomes part of their long-term bedtime routine.
Retainers Are Included
At Chompers, your retainers are included in the cost of orthodontic treatment—no hidden fees or surprises. We’ll also walk you through how to use and care for them, step by step.
Lost or Broken Retainer?
It happens! If you lose or damage your retainer, call us right away. We’ll work quickly to make a replacement before your teeth start shifting. The sooner we act, the easier it is to maintain your beautiful results.
Follow-Up After Orthodontics
We’re still here for you after treatment ends. Our typical post-treatment schedule includes:

2-month checkup to ensure the retainer fits perfectly and everything is stable

6-month follow-up to assess long-term retention and answer any questions
If you also see us for dental care, Dr. Kat may do complimentary retainer checks during your regular cleanings—just one more way we help make orthodontic aftercare easy and seamless.
